Transcribed through hard work by me.

Interviewer: You know, I think of you as, you know, the little kid I met once with Bend it Like Beckham and now you're a huge, international phenomenon.

Keira: Am I?

I: You are!

K: God! How.. how.. cool!

I: People want to dress like you, they want to talk like you, they want to be like you.

K: What, everyone's walking around with these ridiculous english accents?

I: Yes

K: I'm so glad.

I: There's little english accent schools popping up all over

K: Oh good, good

I: Talk like Keira

K: Yeah, exactly. Maybe I should bring out a video or something, you know?

I: Well, you know, could probably do that on the internet.. you could make a few bucks.

K: I could.

I: Yeah

K: That's a good idea! I might!

I: This movie thing might not.. ya know..

K: Yeah. It might not last forever, so I need to start thinking about it.

I: But the Keira Knightley school of diction

K: *laughing* Yeah

I: Certainly will

K: Exactly

I: Well, how have you been first of all? Before we get into Pirates II.

K: Very good, thank you.

I: Really?

K: Yeah.

I: I see you everywhere.

K: Do you?

I: Yes

K: What am I doing?

I: You're on magazines doing this *strikes smiling pose*

K: Oh am I? That's quite scary, isn't it?

I: I know.

K: I saw one. I looked a bit like a psychopath.

I: Does it bother you, I mean.. seeing yourself in all these places. I mean.. you, you as Keira Knightley, the regular human being.. when you see Keira Knightley the movie star, do you kinda.. go "oh gee"

K: Well, it's a little bit weird when you're sitting there facing yourself, staring back at you *points to Pirates poster* which is always a little bit odd. But I don't really look in magazines, so I never really see it.

I: It's great for me to sit across from you

K: No! It's much better with you there. I mean it's when nobody else is sitting in the chair and I'm looking at myself pouting at me, which is very disconcerting.

I: Now last time we spoke, you said I was going to be overwhelmed by this movie because you're.. you're not going to be the dainty little flower in this.

K: No

I: And you actually.. hold your own against the guys here.

K: I do, don't I?

I: Yeah

K: Yeah, she's not the damsel in distress anymore. She's a bit ferocious, I think.

I: This is.. This is a good message for little girls, isn't it?

K: What? Be a bit ferocious? *laughing*

I: Be a bit ferocious.. well, it's taking control of your life.

K: It is. I think she's.. it's.. it's been really exciting to play her, really, because she's a powerful lady, you know, and she's really grown up a lot in the last film and carries on doing so in the third. And yeah, she's taking her life in her own hands.

I: And she takes -- now we're not going to give anything away, of course, because we don't do that on my show --

K: Good, I'm glad

I: But this arc. You know you're going a little bit to, as we say, the dark side a here

K: Yeah. She's got a dark streak and I think that's what's great about the character is she was very sort of innocent and and and knew what path to take and had a very big sense of right and wrong in the first film. And here it's all got a little bit tricky.. and there's certain tensions between the charaters -- that I won't give away -- um, yeah, and she's suddenly a bit lost. A bit morally, I think. It's gone a bit dubious.

I: Yeah.. and I think we're gonna like that. I think audiences will go for that.

K: Yeah, I think it makes it more interesting.

I: Now, were you as excited to see this movie as you were the first one?

K: Def-- yes, I mean.. I haven't seen this one, but yes.

I: Really?

K: No.. but it's good because everybody's been coming and saying how much they liked it, which is really exciting. So the first time.. when I saw the first one for the first time, it was with Orlando. We were sitting next to each other going "This is going to be awful. It's going to be awful. But, you know, united front, just keep smiling. If it's awful, we'll be fine." And halfway through the film going "It's quite good, isn't it?"

I: We're all out of time.

She's so charming.
