Returned to Milwaukee last night after spending my Thanksgiving break at home in Aurora. It was great spending time at home for more than like two days. My grandma came over from Ohio and Danielle went home with me for the short holiday. We spent most of the break just hanging out, eating a lot of turkey, and meeting up with some friends. I got to spend some time with Melv, which is always fun. He was with his family for the beginning of break so he wasn't around the entire time, but he did come up to Milwaukee last weekend to hang out, so we balanced it out. :)
Let's see, some of the highlights from break:
-Car ride down was fun as usual, even though we did hit a little traffic.
-Going over to my dad's apartment for the first time, and laughing at how he enjoyed watching the Paris Hilton MTV show with us. XD
-Playing Clue and "Are you smarter than a 5th grade?" with the family. lulz
-Had a pretty productive Black Friday, and that was without waking up at like 3am and standing outside in the snow. We took my grandma out for lunch, and my sister picked up a new simcard for her phone. Dusti geared up for her first real winter by getting a sweet jacket and all that other wintery stuff (gloves, scarf, etc.). I just picked up seasons two and three of Dragonball Z so that I could continue subjecting Dusti to the awsm of the show. >:D
-Went running and got lunch with Melv, then waking up early the next day to get breakfast. :3
-Hanging out with Nat and Fitz for the first time since the summer. \o/
-Jamba Juice, Red Mango, and Portillos. :F
-Dusti and I went around downtown Naperville in search of her book. It was so nice because of all the Christmas lights and the light snow. It definitely had that pleasant winter atmosphere, and we topped it off with some delicious hot cocoa. Good times. :3
-This isn't a good thing, but my parents ended up taking my sister to ER the day before I left, because she was having abdominal pain and couldn't keep anything down. Apparently this has been going on for like six weeks, except without the pain, so my parents decided it's probably best for her to get checked out. She's still in the hospital today, and they're running a bunch of tests on her so they can figure out what's going on, and hopefully rule out some things like Crohn's disease. Hopefully she'll be okay.
So yeah, overall a pretty fun break, minus the part with my sister. As always, the break flew by. Now I'm back up at school, and have to write two papers and finish a book this week. Awsm. Hard to believe that finals are next week, and then it's already winter break. Can't wait to get some of these classes over with.
