"How is it that Captain Jack Sparrow can be in six different parts of this ride all at once?"

Well. I have returned from Disney and such. For your convenience, vacation summary is in cuts:

Figured I'd get this out of the way first. sidh, there are some in here you might like to icon, but it's a huge folder. Everyone else, well, do whatever you like except claim that you took them. :P

Photobucket (20 Cleaned Selections)
Sendspace: (.zip file) (392 photos + 20 selects) (~63 MB)

I really, really wish I'd had the time and memory card space to take more orchid pictures, really. The gardens in Epcot were beautiful and I had to pick and choose what I could take pictures of because of time and file space restrictions. I would have taken like 5,000 photos otherwise and still probably had every one feature a unique subject. I will also say this: the birds in Florida never, ever sit still. XD Neither do the brown anoles.

Might upload one or two of these on deviantART sometime in the next week; still trying to decide (and I have to answer all the comments I got while I was away!)

I discovered that MGM Studios has really cleaned itself up since I was last there; everything was a lot less crowded, and they built this totally awesome new roller coaster. I also, admittedly, went on the Tower of Terror and came sooooo close to buying the picture from it, despite it being approximately $6,000,000 (by which I mean seventeen bucks), because it was dang funny.

Magic Kingdom is still the same as ever, really. I got to see the new additions to the Pirates of the Carribean ride, in which Jack Sparrow shows up in every room at the same time. He's talented like that, I guess...Umm, everything else was kind of boring there. Although, I will say this: riding on Splash Mountain and Thuder Mountain with a Band teacher and an English teacher sitting behind you yelling "Yee-haw!" every few minutes is quite an amusing experience.

Epcot rocked my socks, actually, but I didn't get to spend enough time there at all. I ate lunch and dinner in their Japan section, of course, but was all sad when the hibachi restaurant was closed, so I had chicken teriyaki and sukiyaki beef in the yakitori house instead. They had this totally awesome store that sold everything from anime merchandise to kimonos to sake and snacks... but in my typical style, I bought absolutely nothing. Came quite close to buying a wakizashi, though, just because it was the only sword I could afford. The katana were all like $400. The orchid gardens were in "Mexico" and I rode on some odd viking adventure ride in "Norway" which was really somewhat boring, except that Marlee insisted we go on it because the vikings be her peeps ...or ...something.

Our band performance took place about three hours earlier than I would have liked in a building that was about thirty degrees too cold. We didn't get to see the chorus or any of our other groups perform, but at the awards ceremony, they did quite well. Chorus won Best in Class, one of the alto sax players in the jazz band won Best Jazz Solo... and our band left as Worst in Show. We suck, oh yes, but at least we enjoyed it. I was chosen as one of the two student representatives to go get the award (it said, and I quote, "Good.") I think the next time I see it I shall sticky-note a message onto the back that says I was the first person in the school to touch it.

The awards ceremony itself was really more of a giant pep-band heckling session than anything else. Everybody yelled and cheered for their school and booed the other groups. There were plenty of cliche groups cheers ("We've got spirit, yes we do! We've got spirit, how 'bout you!?") and such. I discovered along the way that I have the ability to scream at inordinately high pitches for alarming lengs of time, a capacity I thought I would never have, to be honest. I've never been much of a screamer. But I figured it out, and was quite proud of myself, oh yes. *nods*

There's more to say, but I'll leave it at that now because I'm totally exhausted (I really did have a hard time with the schedule, and I didn't do so well trying to walk the parks) and am going back to bed. I only really got up to eat something. XD

I have an appointment with my Lyme specialst tomorrow, so I won't be in school then, either. Typical of me, I guess, but it does annoy me to miss something like one days of school in every three I attend.
