Flourescent Pink!!!!!!!
WTF is wrong with people?!?!?! Or maybe I should rephrase that for this rant. WTF is wrong with DRIVERS?!?!?!?! People in this state don't know how to fucking drive! Stop signs (and RED LIGHTS) mean you STOP!!! They don't mean slow down and then breeze through them!!!! Twice yesterday. TWICE!!!! I was almost broadsided (which means they would have hit Bug!!!) by two different people!! Within about 2 miles from each other!! Just because they obviously don't know what a stop sign and a red light are for!!! And I absolutely hate idiots who pull out in front of me and then drive at a snails pace. I was doing prolly about 49 (in a 45 zone) coming up on an intersection (where there are stop signs for cross traffic, therefore not me......) and some elderly person ( I know he was lelderly because he had a UCLA alumni '48 sign in his back window) and he pulls out in front of me causing me to brake heavily to avoid ramming the nose of my car up the ass of his!!! WTF?!?!?! Did he just not see me? I really don't get it. And then some idiot on the highway didn't pay attention to the "right lane ends merge left" sign because it almost seemed like he purposely sped up beside me and nearly drove me off the road. Again I had to apply alot of pressure to my breaks to keep from getting in an accident!!!
And then, there's my biggest pet peeve of all. The speed limit. Now, generally i don't really speed. If its a 45 zone I might go 50. (55 if its sunbury and I'm trying to get around some slow person before it goes from 4 lanes to 2.) I generally don't go more than 5 over the limit. I don't like the way cops treat people when they get pulled over so i try not to get pulled over. The first time I ever got pulled over the nasty cop yelled at me and blamed me for his idiocy in not writing down my soc number correctly and yelled at me about purposely giving him the wrong number and yelled at me some more. All the while I'm thinking "i'm only 18 years old and i'm driving a little red geo metro with all my school books and a few cat carriers in the back of my car and he's treating me as if I just robbed the closest gas station!" Seriously I'm surprised he didn't have me get out of the car and hand cuff me!!! I was going like 65 in a 55 but that's beside the point. Let's just say that I no longer have a very high opinion of cops since that incident. I actually don't trust them. Sad when you feel like you can't trust your own law inforcement isn't it? But, i'm off track again....
Speed limits. They are there for a reason. They are there to let you know how fast you are supposed to be going!!!!! I have no problem with someone who wants to speed, I will get out fo your way. What I have a problem with are the idiots who don't drive the speed limit!! Even when it is clearly posted!!! Is it that hard to comprehend that when the speed limit sign says 45 mph that you need to go 45 mph?!? Not 40 mph or 35 mph or (god forbid) 25 mph, but, 45 fucking mph!!!! I don't think that is too hard. I've said numerous times that white is the wrong color to post speed limits on. The sign's not bright enough for people to see. I think they should be like flourescent pink or blue or purple. And, they should be GIGANTIC that way you would literally have to be blind to miss them. School buses are big and yellow for a reason; so that you notice them! Stop signs are red for a reason, so that you see the gigantic-ass warning of STOP!!! ( Although as i've mentioned before stop signs are apparently open to interpretation. grrrrrrrrrrrr....) Construction crap is bright orange so that you SEE IT!!! And so that you don't hit it going 65 (69) miles and hour on the highway!!! Therefore the speed limit sign needs to change so that people actually see it. Which brings me to a related topic. If you see a cop in the distance while on the highway. For fuck's sake DON'T slow down to 45 mph on a 65 mph highway just because the cop is there. First off, if he's on the highway more than likely he's going faster than you anyway, because they can get away wih it. Secondly, HE'S NOT GOING TO PULL YOU OVER FOR GOING THE FUCKING SPEED LIMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
