so i sent in my deposit to albany yesterday.
holy shit. i am enrolled in college. ryan and i have decided to definitely go away together. not everyone agrees with this decision and i don't blame them. if i were giving advice to someone in the same situation i would definitely advise them otherwise. i might be making a huge mistake but i can't live my life regretting something like this. nothing is set in stone.
the reason we did this is because we applied to a special program albany offers called Project Renaissance. it's a 400 student program that is separated into 5 tracks; i applied for the pre-med track and ryan applied for the pre-law track. there are 90 students in each track and the classes are broken down even farther. you are housed with people from your same track who will have the same classes as you.
when we called, the woman told us that if we applied now we were pretty much gauranteed acceptance because its admission on a rolling basis. you can't be denied from this program or your first choice track based on grades if you were already accepted into the regular school at albany (which we both were). we will know by thursday whether or not we definitely got into this.
the only school that could change this decision would be binghamton. their science program is unbeatable; one of the best in the country. if i get in there i think i would have to go. if i went to binghamton, ryan would go to oneonta and they are 45-50 minutes apart; do-able.
oh, and i got into towson yesterday. hah.
last night got weird. we were at chris' again but left within a half hour because nothing was going on. i'm sad that other people are sad :( but today kyle and i have some serious zen to eat and urban exploring to do.
um, that's all kids.
