How I Love Mr. Sulu
I wonder if there are any other Howard Stern fans in the female side of Stargate fandom. In fact I wonder if just admitting I am one will shock my friends into abandoning me for a self-hating cretin. Hmmm. Anyway, I am in fact a fan of Howard & Co's wacky antics, and followed him to Sirius satellite radio. This past week, for the second time, George Takei, aka Mr. Sulu, joined the show as announcer and full-time co-commentator each day. He was wonderful, and the fans seemed to be unanimously in love with him. He projects a wonderful mix of grace, dignity, and innocence, has an amazing laugh, and handled everything Howard threw at him, from using his voice to make obscene phony phone calls to letting him argue with the psycho woman from God Hates Fags (the idiots who protest at soldier's funerals). Howard even got George to admit he watches gay porn sometimes and hides it under the bed from his partner, Brad, who doesn't like the idea :) Anyway, George is way more than Mr. Sulu now, and he really made my week.
