astrozoot's Comments: AU. Dean and Cas are inseparable from Gabriel from the age of 5. Unfortunately they don't like each other very much. Gabriel has a dark family life he hides from the others. It's great the way the three come together so naturally, and the order in which they come together is perfect.

There's no great love for the two, but there's not the hatred you find in other Crowley/Castiel fics.

Michael is a safe haven. Michael is different. As long as Dean does what Michael tells him to do, he can pretend everything's okay. At least for a little while.
astrozoot's Comments: AU. The first half of this high school!fic is Dean/Michael, the second half is Destiel. This is a great angsty fic, with Dean recovering from Michael. I love fics where Dean and Gabriel are best friends, and this fic writes that friendship so well. TRIGGER WARNING: suicide.
