i remember getting a copy of an album of theirs a few years ago and not being overwhelmed.. but everyone seems to love them at the moment so i might give their new material a go!
The Birthday Massacre Fever Ray (Karin Dreijer Andersson from The Knife) Frankmusik IAMX Ladytron Pzychobitch
On a bit of a Goth kick, evidently. Nothing too unusual. Except I'm loving Jesse McCartney, but that's nothing new. Also revisiting a lot of PJ Harvey in anticipation of her new album.
I should check out new Royksopp. I didn't like The Understanding much (so much so that I sold my copy, but that was under pressure from a friend who wanted my special edition) but I love What Else Is There and the song with Robyn. Fever Ray is great: very Knife-ish, but much less dancey, more understated. Super creepy. Check out MySpace: lead single If I Had A Heart is very indicative of the whole album.
And it's the John Parish one, yeah. Julia's picking it up for me soon! >.
Its not bad, the Royksopp album. Takes a few listens to get into it. but there are some instantly awesome tracks (Royksopp Forever and This Must Be It hooked me in).
So happy there is new PJ out there. I've listened to her albums so many times of late that I've been forced to go through all her Peel sessions and live bootlegs.
