sydney, prepare for rock festival heaven!
was reading through a promo for The Bourbon Fest, a Jim Beam sponsored festival in northern sydney. www.thebourbonfest.com
at first glance it looks like any other small-scale city festival.
The Bourbon Fest, presented by Jim Beam, is returning to Sydney by popular demand, bringing with it an all-star cast of home grown rock bands including; Spiderbait, After the Fall, Small Mercies, The Fumes, The Hot Lies, Angela's Dish and bluejuice as well as up and coming dance acts GRAFTON PRIMARY and DJ Abel El Toro.
but as you read on, the festival quickly loses its credibility.
i would like to draw your attention in particular to this section:
The line up of exciting bands will be joined by an awesome line-up of acts including Axle Whitehead, the Jim Beam Party Crew, Krystal (of Big Brother fame) and much, much more.
which follows with this cracker:
“The number of great acts lining-up to take part in The Bourbon Fest speaks volumes for the calibre of the event, one that we have worked hard to get right.”
hmm yes the calibre of the event IS rather evident. but wait, there's more...!
This exciting outdoor festival is jam-packed with Australia’s hottest music acts, sport, entertainment and Jim Beam Bourbon, not to mention hot guys and chicks.
i don't think i've ever seen a festival, not even fuzzy's excuse-to-dress-like-a-bikini-model events, blatantly advertise that its going to be a huge perve-fest.
but the bit that made me laugh the most after reading all of this was a section in their website which says next to a cleavage-drenched bikini-clad female that there will be plenty of beautiful girls "to go around" (i'm assuming there will be a model showcase).
then it goes on to say, and i quote:
"And for the ladies, we haven't forgotten about you, lets just say Axle Whitehead ain't too shabby in the flesh."
WOW. THANKS JIM BEAM FESTIVAL ORGANISERS! you really know how to look after us girls in the eye candy department. *rolls eyes*
i'm already clambering for tickets to this one...
