A Quick Thought
This should be time for restoring community spirit and to build bridges. The growing tensions we have in this country are as unprecedented as this static economic state. And it's just October. I've seen the brewing polarization of inter-ethnic relationships & contact.
We do need to help our 3rd world neighbors, but not at the cost of making people despise one another over trivial crap like melanin. And in regard to a total revamping of everything...I hope we can retain all our individual liberties. Have we been forgotten? The voices of the middle class, the working class, the voting age youth, AA. Can our voices be heard amidst the pocketful-policy shaping noisy stream of voices vying for influencing media and in Washington.....I think that trying too quickly to bring the 3rd into the 1st world (without slow progression) is potentially disastrous.
It my hope that 10 years from now, the decisions we all have made (especially as Americans, whether you voted for Obama or Mccain or Mickey Mouse) and as human beings will mean we will live in a better world by the standards of yesterday, today, & tomorrow.
Politics is like fashion. It promotes and caters to certain tastes. And right now some Americans may wonder about the next wave of fashion we are being offered and sold. But, like any shopper on a budget: to buy something new you sometimes have to trade in something old.
May the hand of G-d protect us from those who are trying to keep us from being united. May G-d slowly cool the hatred the world has of America. May our enemies scatter and be blown away like sands in a storm. May G-d keep us safe, healthy, free, and help us to work toward not only the common good, but the greater good..
May G-d postpone the negative. And allow the world to arise to a greater understanding of the universe. We will grow as we become more influenced by the spiritual world and the multi-dimensional physical world, that science continues to develop theories for. And may change come without a complete clash of civilizations and the breakdown of civilization itself. May barbaric, insensitive potentially life threatening, and counterproductive reactions be thwarted as we are encourages embracing enlightenment and glimpsing at the big picture.
