Tempered Excitement...
... as the Bills looked rather good last night, even though they were without their starting QB and the Colts were playing without Manning (or there 2nd-string QB either). The offense is looking like its starting to figure things out and the defense is finally healthly after the crazy injuries that destroyed its effectiveness last season. Of course, the Bills have the Pats and 'newly-crowned' Jets to deal with, but I'm feeling positive that the playoffs are a possibility finally after 8 seasons without an appearance.
Otherwise, life is good. The new patio is sweet, and we are making a list of outdoor projects to finish up before the winter to set the stage to start thinking about a deck in the next year or two hopefully. We hit Como Zoo on Sunday morning to get the girls to the Sparky show before it closed for the year after Labor Day weekend, even though we had to run the gambit of the craziness of the state fair. Otherwise, this weekend involved a bit of WoW and Bills' preseason football. This week includes open house at school for Kassi, the last sessions of swimming lessons for the girls, getting my tasks done, and preparing for the Fantasy Football draft next Monday night. And of course, the weekend brings the annual Lindenfelser Horseshoe Tournament and Horse Race on Sunday, along with all the other activities of the cabin (fishing, cards, food, etc).
