"It doesn't matter if you don't know the lyrics- it's death metal, no one will know the difference!" - Johan Hegg
OH JOHAN, ILU.
SHOW WAS SO AWESOME. Except for the fact that Eluveitie's opener didn't show, so Eluveitie was all OH WELL WE'LL JUST GO ON NOW K GUISE and somehow managed to start early. (Doors opened at 7, I was there at like 7:06 and had already missed half of Eluveitie's set. >:|) But that was made up by
imouto and I running into Paede taking a smoke on the way out of the venue, so we got pictures with him. I think he was really surprised that we recognized him, since like everyone else was walking by him like he was just some other dude out for a smoke.
The concert had the weirdest setup ever. Amon Amarth was headlining, right? But Fear Factory wound up closing the show. I don't even. I was half tempted to leave after Amon Amarth was done, but Shellie and I decided that we wanted to hang around and watch Gene Hoglan play. The man is mesmerizing, and the only drummer I think is more talented/fun to watch than him is Mike Portnoy.
Anyway, Amon Amarth and Eluveitie were great. Johan is totally adorable- all of AA couldn't stop smiling and Johan kept playing with his tougue.
I also managed to figure out how to sort of set the shutter speed on my point n' shoot, so some of my pictures turned out a bit more ok than normal.
Eluveitie
DAT MUSCULATURE. Also I love his massive veins.
