Gahh...busy busy busy. I've managed to be able to keep up with everyone's posts, yet couldn't seem to find the time to post anything of my own. (That, or nothing in my life is worth mentioning.:P) But, No Longer. Today, I shall give anyone interested a brief update on the Life of Kender.
The terrible two's indded (and she's not even two yet, at that!) It seems my little one is brimming with the beginning development of her own individual personality,(which seems to be turning into that of an miniature acrobat on crack) Between the tumbles over furniture, "tightrope" walking on whatever dangerous thing may be lying about, and generally getting into everything she knows she's not supposed to be in...well, this little Kender is getting to be more that a little bit haried.
How does one explain to a toddler that food should not be slung across the carpet? That certain things should not be inserted into you mouth? That you should eat more that just potato chips in the course of a day?
Nothing's like having your child disaplin YOU and explaining that she is allowed to do all the things you tell her not to, because she's the BABY. (an argument that, thus far, I've found no defense against.) I fear I shall turn into a harpy if I don't figure out some way to reign her in soon. (I've got this little shock collar idea that sounds better and better each day.
Really, she's a gem. But...
She's evil. And that's not her fault. It's just how she was born.
She needs a yard. A big one. Time to start looking into those play gyms. (though she might get kicked out with a big old "Does not Play with Others" stamped to her forehead.
That's my girl.
Okay. Work stinks. Sticks big old hairy donkey balls. I am not a people person. (at least when it comes to cranky impatient people who do things like hand me items with no price tags and then look at me like some sort of slug when I suggest it would be much faster for them to go back where they got it rather than call around hoping to find someone not busy enough that they could go find said item on customer's vague discription. And people who give me fifty coupons when they've only bought twenty items.
*sighs* To top that off, I'm apparently not working fast enough for the upper crust's liking. (Last week I score a 93% on Performance instead of the 95% I should be getting. *rolls eyes* Plus, I keep getting put on cash control, for reasons no one seems fit to enlighten me on. My maths skills are far from the greatest of in the world, but I know I can count out the right amount of change back. So maybe I'm doing something wrong with the checks or WIC or something. (though you would think that they would tell me what I keep doing wrong, so I would stop freakin doing it.
Shit, how depressing is it when someone with a nice, moderate amount of intelligence can't hand being a cashier? Suck.
Still plowing away on my dinosaur of a computer (who refuses to even think about running Premier, so no amv's from my until I get an upgrade, which will most likely be sometime in July.) I did break down and instal my new dvd burner last night. (with a few encouraging words from Ashe) It seems to be up and running fine, but the program is different then I'm used to and I can't seem to get a grasp of exactly how much will fit on a disc, so's I've been playing it safe for now. (My old compy feels much better without all though anime episodes sitting heavy in its head.)
In other news, the family and I will be moving in march, to a one floor/two bedroom in Lewis Center, OH; which is majorly nearer to Chris's work than we are now. The rent's cheaper too. Big bonus that I won't have to transfer to another Meijers if I don't want to. Have been spending a lot of time sorting through and discarding old junk. I'll have to put a list up later of what anime stuff I'm trying to give away, just in case anyone wants something.
Chris, tired of springs poking him every which way from sunday, dragged the couch out of the house and tossed it in the dumpster. All by himself. And it was a damn heavy couch. Stupid hubby. Our big black chair is on its last leg too (or should I say arm, since one of them is only days away from tearing off completely. So hubby and i discussed the probability of affording furniture versus having to buy a washer and dryer for the new place in march. We vaguely planned on festooning the living room with bean bags and doing are best to live comfortably on floor level. Then my store had a sale on a futon I've been eyeing. It's metal (which I hope means harder to tear up) and has neat little locker drawers under it so's we can stash sonny's toys in so company won't trip. Chris agree on having a better surface to sleep on when Sonny wakes in the middle of the night and I refure to let either of them in bed with me. (we definitely need to upgrade to a king, there just isn't enough room for all three of us.)
So anyway, Chris came home with the futon, and the bonus of a nice matress to go with it (we were plannng to buy one later, when we saved up for it.) We haven't put it together, cause it'll be easier to move that way. Yay for furniture! (we'll probably still get a bean bag thoug. One of those need "gamer" ones maybe...
Sonny's b-day is the first of march, and we are currently struggling between b-day plans and moving. The little tike may just get to celebrate early this year. We've picked up some presents for her, and are brewing over an early april trip to Canada, in order to go see her Doodlebops live in concert. (Aren't you going to Canada in April, too, Opal?)
Chris and I have our anniversary coming up. Feb 15th marks 9 years together (3 of them married). Jeez, I've lived two and a half decades and nearly half of thoughs have been spent with this guy. I eather really love him or I'm definitely mental in the head. (I strongly suspect it's both) No big vacation plans this year, concidering everything we've got going on, but a few simple plans are trying to work themselves out, which I hope will turn out to be great fun. (We had a mini date the other weekend, and while we didn't do much, we had a blast doing it.)
Well, I would say that just about sums it up. I guess I had more to write about than I thought. Forgive my spelling errors, I'm amazed that Sonny actually let me sit down and write this much, I'm not going to tempt fate by going into editing.
Now let's review, shall we?
In short, I'm still alive, and I'm glad you all are too. *grins and hugs her lj friends*
