Blackout Bingo Retrospective

May 03, 2020 00:10

OK, so, yep, as I enthused about last post: I have finally finished my
genprompt_bingo full card blackout! (You can see the full list of what I wrote for it here, if for some reason me posting it all here hasn't already been more than enough for you.)

I ended up writing one story for The Good Place, one for Once Upon a Time, four for Doctor Who and, uh, nineteen for Good Omens. Well. I think it's fairly clear where my fannish brain is these days.

It's taken me since early December to finish all 25 stories.

Total words written for this thing: 42,506. Although It's probably worth pointing out that four of those (including some of the longer ones) doubled as exchange fics, and would have been written with or without the bingo card, at least in some form. Admittedly, most of the stories I did for the card were very short, but they did range from 100-word drabbles all the way up through that 9,000-word sex scene I somehow produced.

Not too shabby, all in all! It certainly did exactly what it was supposed to do, and gave me motivation to keep the ol' brain stimulated with some writing instead of letting it atrophy. And also an excuse to write lots of Aziraphale/Crowley fic. Enough so that I'm a little afraid some of it might have gotten a bit samey, but what the heck. It was fun.

Anyway. Yes. Very proud of myself. Also really very tired. And kind of glad to be done.

Now I just need to get a new bingo card! And to sign up for
intoabar. And
