Remixification!

Remix Revival stories have been revealed now (both the main and the Madness collections), and I have to say, it seems like a particularly fine batch of stories this time out. I've been impressed with pretty much everything I've read! I have to give a shoutout, though, to my favorite of the batch, "Autumn Mourning (The Falling Leaves and Elephants Remix)", a really fantastic Blake's 7/Doctor Who crossover featuring Orac and the TARDIS.

I, myself, was remixed this time not once, but three times, twice in the main collection and once for Madness, which I could not be more pleased about, especially as the resulting stories were all really cool. They are:

"Fried (Bananas) & Prejudice" (Doctor Who): This was a remix of an old story that I no doubt would have written very differently myself if I were writing it today, so that's kind of interesting right there. This version follows up on the original and brings some real thoughtfulness to what was mostly just a silly little anecdote. It also made me remember just how fond I was of the Ninth Doctor. Aww, Nine.

"The View from Here (The Constellations Remix)" (Undertale): This, on the other hand, is a remix of a very recent story. The original was from Sans' POV, and this one is from Toriel's, and I think it makes a really lovely companion piece to my version. It also gives me the warm fuzzies in the way that apparently only this pairing can.

Stuck in the Middle With You (The Apple for the Teacher Remix)" (Once Upon a Time): This was the Madness story, and it came as a wonderful surprise. It takes my version and puts it in a slightly larger context, and makes for a really strong portrait of Regina and the various ways in which she is trapped. I'm particularly impressed by the way it took one line of dialog from the original and gave it a significance I never even realized was there.

So, yes, I am a very happy remixee! I'm not nearly so sure about my own story, but, as so often happens, I did like it better upon re-reading it once the collection opened than I did just after I posted it, so that's good, I guess.
