In Which I Continue Randomly Wibbling On About OUaT, Because Apparently This Is What I Do Now.

This may not be amusing to anybody but me, but... I often enjoy putting my entire (rather large) music collection on random shuffle on my iPod while I'm doing housework. I also occasionally like playing a little fannish game, where I'll pick a character, and then see if I can relate the next random song to that character somehow. (This comes ( Read more... )

fic recs, once upon a time, music

This comes from an old writing meme, where the challenge was to write a ficlet inspired by the random song, only I eliminated the pesky writing part.

 I think, as someone's sort of learned to vid, that this would be a very very dangerous game to play...

And, ha, I shall hang on to the recs for future reference. (I recognise both those authors' names, in a good way, although I don't know what from).

that my shriveled old unromantic heart gets all melty.

Aww. Cyber fic with issues? ;-p

I often end up sort of making vids in my head, but my complete lack of any relevant technical skill fortunately saves me from the danger of actually doing them. :)

LOL! You know, "Cyber fic with issues" actually sounds rather appealing. :)

Yes, whereas now I have the means and not necessarily the wisdom to realise that some things should not exist. Luckily, it's not easy to do at the moment, so I'm mainly safe. At the moment. :-)

I confess I spent quite a long time when I was a teenager wondering about Cybermen who weren't fully converted/got their memories back and how that would be. (TRAGIC and painful, obviously, but with possible redemption, I was a teenager. As probably are some of the fic culprits here, I suppose! I should just be grateful I had no internet back then and nobody got Mary-Sue companion and the emotional Cybermen fic from me. Or worse... It doesn't bear thinking about.)

So, um... *cough* yeah.

I shall, however continue to be willing to encourage you. Because some of those things that should not exist really should exist. :)

LOL! Hey, I can still see a lot of angst potential there, and it's been a long time since I was a teenager. And, anyway, canon's sort of done it a bit, hasn't it? So it can't be that bad of an idea. :)

LOL! OK, that probably would have been painful. And, yeah, I am also very frequently glad we didn't have the internet when I was was a teenager, too. Well, except for how I'm actually really sorry we didn't have the internet when I was a teenager and ( ... )

One day there will be a B7/BBC Shakespeare vid, yes... ♥

I was v smug about that. And liked Seven in Voyager. :-)

Also, that was a typo, there was only even a singular emotional cyberman. But, aww, at your retrospective jealousy. I know I would have loved the net, but I can't be. I think me and my two sisters were always weird and fannish - about completely different things and in different ways, so I just wrote secret fanfic in my diary, she made scrapbooks of all the people she liked and together we made 600 paper dolls. And then I wrote fic about them. Whereas, if I'd had the net... No. It doesn't bear thinking about, it really doesn't. But, you know, I'd give it to wee!you if I could.

Seven was one of the few things I did like about Voyager, although her costume made it more difficult than it should have been. ;)

Well, really, do you ever need more than one emotional cyberman? :)

Awww. That's actually incredibly sweet. :) Oh, well. Adult me has probably done a pretty good job of making up for lost time, I think.
