State of the Ficathons
So, I sat down and pretty much knocked out my dark_fest story yesterday. It's still going to need some tweaking, no doubt, but that was way more progress than I'd expected to make, so yay! I was a little worried about making the 1,000-word minimum, and was very relieved when it came out just a tiny smidge over... and then I realized today that it was actually a 500 word minimum. Oh, well. I think it's probably a better story for me having added more detail to it in the attempt to make the 1,000 words, anyway. (I also think that, really, it's more just kind of sad than dark, but that's OK.)
I've also just signed up for Remix 2012, which is always a fun (if often also a hair-tearing) challenge. So, yay for that, too! Especially as I really need the motivation to get back to doing more writing. I seem just not to have much lately, and I feel sorry about that.
