This one is for
kerravonsen, who suggested "Harry Potter/Pretender: Jarod is the Defence Against The Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts." Technically, she was requester number six of what was supposed to be five, since sneaky
jhall1 got in just ahead of her, but I a) am feeling generous, and b) thought for sure that there ought to be something interesting to do with that prompt. This... is probably not it. But what the heck.

Change of Course
Albus Dumbledore looked down at the papers in front of him, then back at the young man sitting calmly on the other side of his desk.
"I hope my credentials meet with your approval," the man said. His tone was modest enough, but it was clear to Dumbledore that he knew perfectly well that his credentials could hardly have been more perfect if he'd invented them specifically for the purpose of getting the job. Interesting, that.
"Yes, yes," he said. "Most impressive." He locked eyes with the young man, who smiled -- rather charmingly, Dumbledore had to admit -- and did not look away.
He had a most interesting mind. Quite brilliant. Very organized. And skilled, it would seem, at very nearly everything... with the useful exception of occlumency. Right now, he was thinking that once he had secured the Defense Against the Dark Arts position it would be easy to befriend the Potter boy, gather information, and formulate a plan to give the evil wizard a small but significant taste of the anguish he had brought to others before ensuring he would never do so again. Interestingly, his hatred for He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named seemed to have much more to do with his orphaning a small child and leaving him to grow up in an abusive household than with any of his larger crimes.
Dumbledore popped a lemon drop into his mouth and sucked on it thoughtfully for a long moment. Well, he thought, why not? It might be worth a try. Besides, he couldn't help but approve of a man who enjoyed his sweets that much. He'd already emptied nearly half the bowl.
He stood up and extended his hand. "Welcome to Hogwarts, Professor Jarod Oz."
