(See, Vir the cat had climbed up on the dresser, above which is hanging that slightly cheesy Franklin Mint Mr. Spock plate somebody got me as a present when I was a teenager, and was eying said plate with mischievous intent. Although possibly this would have been funnier without the explanation.)
