All right. My Mickey ficathon story, such as it is, is nearing completion. There's one bit of terminology I keep tripping over, though, so I thought I might consult you British types in the audience. At one point, I have Mickey referring to his place of business, where we saw him working on cars. (At least, I'm assuming that was his regular job.) What's the best phrase to use for such an establishment? My first instinct was "auto shop," but it occurred to me to wonder, given that "shop" generally has a slightly different meaning in the UK than the US ("store" vs. "workshop"), whether that might not be what Mickey would call it. What say you, O people across the pond? "Auto shop?" "Garage?" "Mechanics' shop?" Something else? Help!
