So, I've finally got around to starting Don Quixote, which I've been meaning to read for ages and ages. And, OK, I expected to find the character sort of familiar, because he's one of those archetypes or something, and you see the story itself referenced everywhere. I'm reading it in an English translation. Sadly, while my Spanish is good enough for, say, a newspaper article, it is in no way up to a 400-year-old novel.

And to be fair, really I can only do that trick with Dumas novels. Uhm, and certain bits of the bible.

But I'd like to TRY it with Spanish sometime...
