A Sense of Accomplishment, and Some Minor Musing

Bar some (probably very necessary) tweaking, my Starkathon story is finished! Yay! And forget that comment earlier about it not having a point or anything, because I think it does. Sort of.

What's really odd about this is that it's approximately 1,100 words long, and I wrote the first 500 words or one sitting, with everything just flowing out quite easily, and the last 600 words today in little fits and starts with each sentence pulled uncomfortably from my brain, constantly on the verge of giving it up because I just wasn't in the groove... And, on a first look-over, I think the second half is much better than the first half.

This seems to me to be sort of the culmination of a change I've noticed happening in me recently, from having to be in some trance-like state of creative inspiration to be able to write anything decent at all, to being able to sit down and just churn out prose like it was any other kind of task. I suppose that's a good thing...
