Ol' Mexico
Last night we went out for i_beam's par-tay at Ol' Mexico. It was a lot of fun, and great to see everyone I haven't seen in a while. I've been really missing People. Mostly the People around here, since I haven't gotten to see a lot of them. i_beam's been busy with wedding prep; planetgal471 has been insanely busy with teaching (only a week and a half before she gets to sleep again!); milliganhasears has been off in not-antarctica launching balloons. And of course I've been pretty lame about trying to get together with people.
Last week when I got to see Boston friends also got me thinking about all the other people I miss. Not just from Boston (though you too of course!) but people spread all across the country, from Boston to DC and SC... TN, IL, AZ, and CA. And Canadia, too. And other places. I like that I can keep up with people here, or on Facebook, but I still miss y'all. Or "all y'all" as mraley would say.
Anyway, aside from that, we went to Ol' Mexico last night. And I have to say the food wasn't that great. It wasn't horrible though, not like that one place that made me throw up*. So I'm not adverse necessarily to going back to Ol' Mexico, it just won't be for the food. (I mean seriously, the major spice shouldn't be *salt* in Mexican cooking. Also, I was sad that the beef enchiladas came with ground beef, and also there were no tamales on the menu and no sopapillas.) But the pomegranate margaritas were really quite tasty. :)
*that place was really awful. but to be fair, I was pregnant at the time. otoh, it was the only time I threw up while pregnant. it was somewhere in apple valley/lakeville/farmington, not entirely sure which.
Anyhow. The point is, I miss my friends and I wish I could see you all more often. *hugs all around*
