Losing my fat ass

May 26, 2006 16:21

Well, inspired by Glen's great feats of strenth, I have decided I need to fix my fat ass too.

So I'm going to attempt to start keeping a weight loss journal similar to his. But much less sophisticated, because I suck at charts.

I figured I would work on the basis of three measurements: My BMI (metric and emipiri-wank), my actual weight (also metric and emipiri-wank) and my physical measurements/dress size.
All of which are terribly shameful right now and make me want to cry.

So, lets begin with goals:

I want my BMI down to 21.
My weight, accordingly needs to come down to 132 lbs / 60 Kg.
I would also like to return to a happy size 6-7.

Currently, I am a mess.

My BMI is a shocking 26, which is one unit into overweight.
I weigh 160.8 lbs / 73.1 Kg.
I went shopping last week and I am a size 12.

So, today i begin a serious diet following the basic principles of the South Beach diet (but not actually doing that due to time/financial constraints.
Also, I am going to aim at getting to the gym 4 to 5 times a week for the first 2 weeks and then assess what effect that is having, and then based on that adjust frequency.
My goal is to get 2 days of straight cardio in (1hr per session) and then do 2-3 classes (aerobics/spinning) just for variety.

This is my mission.
I wonder how long I will stick to it?

I'm getting out my white board toplan my meals, and I will go from there.
At 6pm I also have my first spin class.

Wish me luck!
