I spent a total of 44 hours travelling from Philadelphia to Porto Alegre, Brazil -- and no, for the first time in my life, I am not exaggerating. I flew from Philadelphia to Atlanta, then to Sao Paulo, where I spent 6 hours waiting for my flight to Buenos Aires. I called Alfonso a few times but he wasn't home, which made me realise that flying there with nowhere to go once I arrived was a rather ridiculous task. But I did just that, and since I couldn't find Alfonso still, slept at some random hostel near the airport. There I met the best friend of Jennifer Lopez's and Marc Anthony's guitarist, ate breakfast with a Continental airplane mechanic, and took one of the most needed showers of my life. I woke up at some awful hour and went back to the airport, waited a few more lifetimes and finally caught a flight, landing in Porto Alegre almost two days after I started travelling. Story of my life.
