National Assembly
So Iraq elects its National Assembly. Here's my problem with it:
1. Shiite majority opressed by Ba'athist Sunnis for dozens of years, under Saddam Hussein.
2. Sunni minority did rather well under Hussein.
3. National Assembly, since it reflects size of population, and hence, ethnic groups, will give power to Shiite majority.
Conclusion: Shiite majority retaliates against Sunni minority for years of suffering, whether explicitly or subtly -- disenfranchised Sunni minority fights back, civil unrest/war ensues.
