Look what I can do!

I have spent the last three days going through stuff we don't want anymore, and deciding how much money I should expect someone else to pay for it during the garage sale tomorrow. Good times. But hey -- if we sell half this stuff, we're going to have a GREAT time at IKEA when it opens on Wednesday! (Hey, you people who have been to an IKEA grand opening: Just how crazy is it, and is it worth the insanity? We're not taking kids, and I don't mind lots of people, so I'm thinking it'll be fun, but I don't know quite what to expect...)

So we found a house... or three. The one we're pushing for is already priced 35k under our pre-approval, and our agent says he thinks it's over-priced so is trying to talk the guy down another 20k. We would apply for about 15k more in the loan so we could gut the kitchen and completely re-do it, and replace most of the flooring, but guess what!? Even after all that, we'd still be nearly 40k under what we know we can comfortably afford.

But, this might not happen. If we can't talk them down in price (even though we could still easily make the payments), we could end up upside down in the loan, and that's not a place I want to be just now. The amazing thing about this: While I lovelovelove the idea of designing my own kitchen, and I really do like so many things about this house, I'm okay if we don't get it. There are two others that as of last night, are still on the market that we really like as well. And I'm learning that there is almost always something out there. So I'm optimistic about the whole thing right now, which is pretty incredible considering how miserable I was just two months ago.

Cooper is currently at his pre-school pool party. Monday (my 31st -- aaahhhh!), he "graduates" and Wednesday, he has a picnic party in the park for his last day. Holy crap -- didn't I JUST drop him off for his first day?

Mika is rocking my musical world right now. It doesn't hurt that he's ridiculously hot, either. Even Coop recognizes the genius -- every time we get in the car, he asks, "Mom, can we listen to the lollipop song?" Rock on, little dude. Rock on.

I got an early birthday present from my mom and mother-in-law. They totally sprung for the tickets for us to go see the True Colors Tour. I am so sitting in 3rd row seats for Cyndi Lauper, Debbie Harry, Erasure, and The Dresden Dolls. Hell yeah! I'm so hardcore....

And I'm done.
