I'll take "Things That Are Mundane" for $100, Alex

Yeah, not so much with the thrill here. But I feel like I need to update more regularly, even if only for myself. Not only does it help me keep track of stuff, but there's a definite therapeutic benefit happening. My life seems much more conquerable and put into perspective when I'm actively talking (or typing, as the case may be) about stuff.

We leave for Vegas tomorrow, hopefully by about 1pm. The plan is to get there, drop stuff off at the hotel (Texas Station, a couple blocks off the strip), and hit up either the Bellagio or Harrah's buffet. Both are supposed to be pretty fantastic. We'll see. I'd also like to see more of the Bellagio fountain than what I've seen from the car. There's a bowling alley in the hotel, and a bunch of stuff for kids, so maybe there will be some time for that. Then it's off to bed, and up super-early to drive the rest of the way to Anaheim. We'll spend Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the park with brief interruptions for naps (if Alex won't sleep in the stroller), and to the beach at least once (Mom says she's not getting that close to the ocean without being able to walk on the sand for 1/2 an hour). Aaron has meetings Thursday evening, and Saturday morning. The company dinner is Friday night, and Dennis and Phyllis are meeting us for dinner Saturday. Then we haul our butts all the way home Sunday. *phew* I get a little wiped out just typing it. But I'm excited -- we had a lot of fun last year, so this year should be even better. I wonder if we can get mom on Tower of Terror. Heh.

This means, of course, that I have oodles to get done today and tomorrow morning. I'm doing laundry (shock, I know), and getting some stuff together today. Munchies have been purchased, and new batteries are in the car headphones. This particular fact is monumentally important, as it means that only those persons interested have to listen to Madagascar, or Diego's Dinosaur Rescue, or Cars, or Looney Tunes, or Over the Hedge, or any other twitch-inducing aural assault. The rest of us can chat, or beebop along to whatever suits our mood. I'm thinking old-school Beautiful South, some Rat-Pack, and much BNL and Ben Folds. We might even throw in some Reba for mom.

In non-vacation news, I'm totally slacking in my "Snack-Pack" duties for pre-school. In December, I sent frosted animal cookies and cheese sticks. Yesterday, they got carrot chips, ranch, and Rice Crispy Treats. It's time to up the ante. Suggestions are welcome.

I'm trying to decide if I want to go weigh in before we leave. My usual day is Thursday, but obviously, I won't be there. According to my scale, I've lost over 2 pounds since last week (with no gym and more weekly points used -- go figure), but who knows what theirs will say. I could go either this evening, or tomorrow morning while Coop's at school. Hmm....decisions, decisions.

I got new Bath & Body Works lotions (sorry, Jane)! The Midnight Pomegranate is yummy, I got more Japanese Cherry Blossom, and some Tropical Passionfruit. Mom got the "Look, Ma, New Hands!" lotion, and it is miraculous. I highly recommend it. She also got the Ile de Tahiti Coconut Vanilla lotion which smells divine, and whose bottle I've already dibbed when she's done with the contents. It's preeeeety. Oh, and I got a new green poofy. I left my poof in San Fransisco. (Bwahahahahah!)

My stay-at-home-mom pager is going off (the dryer buzzed), so I guess I'm done.
