I got randomly sucked into two reality shows on tv late last night. They were on at the same time, and I'd watch one until it went to commercial, and then flip to the other. I still have no idea why I felt compelled to view either one. The first was Temptation Island UK. My only reasoning was that at least two of the "contestants" were Scottish, and we all know how I feel about that delicious accent. The other one was My Bare Lady. Seriously, how much skank can be packed into 22 minutes? Whatever it is, they have raised the bar, I assure you.
Okay, I know all of you who have or are losing weight are going to tell me that it's normal, and that it happens to everyone, but until last night, it hadn't happened to me, and I wasn't prepared for the impact. I gained a pound at weigh-in yesterday. Granted, it is that time of the month and the lady said that 98% of women gain between 2 and 5 pounds, but still....it sucked. So I had a Wendy's cheeseburger for dinner. And it tasted GREAT! Besides, I've decided that Thursday night dinners don't count. Not that I'm porking out, but it feels good to "cheat" once a week. I'm getting over it, but I was fuming last night. So here's hoping that by next week, I'll have lost not only the pound, but another few as well. I need my key-chain, dammit!
Mom got a new fish in her tank last night. He's about the size of a piece of bubble gum. He's cream colored with spots and a mouth that looks like he's in constant whistling mode. She also got a clam, so naturally, we named the new fish "Chowder". And poor thing...first he was being attacked by Nemo and Marlin (the clown fish), and then by the Scum Hawk (if anyone gets the movie reference there, I'll be awfully impressed), and then he got caught in the filter. Operation Chowder Rescue ensued. Jen got a straw and we lifted the top off the tank. Then she poked around while I guided her and we got him unstuck. There was much rejoicing.
I really need to get to the gym today.
