Look, Ma, no meta! (or, SGA fic rec)

I just read a wonderfully evocative Jennifer Keller fic that takes place during her childhood years. I'm going to write a rec for stargateficrec later, but I have to link it here right away:

Nothing's Fair in Fifth Grade (even if you skipped it) by tartanshell

The summer before seventh grade, Jennifer has a lot to learn.
There's something very compelling about the way this fic is written. The characterization of young Jennifer is fascinating and really a great addition to canon.
In other news, my work project, the one with the April 18 deadline... yesterday I got some serious work done on it, yay! I worked until 3 am last night and it felt good! Still no chance in hell to make that deadline, but it's not my fault and there is two week's leeway so it's not really a big deal. And I think I can have it done in a week now. Fortunately the one technique I developed is a great timesaver.
