Ohhhh, new comic! YAY! Why is she back home? Just visiting or for good? I love that beadspread! Or is it a quilt? And I will probably never get used to the combination of bacon, eggs and pancakes. LOL

Ah, but that would be telling! You gotta keep reading. :)

Yep, something like that. I was about to do something really intricately quilt-ish, with a nice pattern, but then I realized that I wasn't masochistic enough for that...

And I will probably never get used to the combination of bacon, eggs and pancakes. LOL

I know! Maybe I should try that some time.

IMO the puzzling part starts once maple syrup comes into the mix. I can see bacon and pancakes easily enough, kind of like a savory crepe, and extra eggs, okay, there are some in pancakes already. But to have pancakes with maple syrup and bacon at the same time just seems gross. Like bacon chocolate, another incomprehensible concoction.

Hmm, I seem to remember that I had breakfast like this, at one of those pancake restaurants. It was quite tasty, too. But I didn't put the maple syrup on the bacon, though.

There was strawberry sauce, too.

Yay, new comic! The nightmare opening panel is very cool.

Thanks. The nightmare panel was the easy part. Tentacles are definitely quicker to draw than interior spaces.

Tentacles: where anatomy is easy. :)

Ooh, very intriguing! :D

(btw, I can't remember if I gave a final review on the last comic -- I think it ended while I was in my fandom hiatus this winter -- but I did love it!)

Astrid, nice work.

Will you bring some original art at Comic-Con that we can look at?

Thanks!

Yeah, I'll probably bring some original stuff. But at this point all my original work is still children's book illustration. Though, I plan to get into original comic after all. Soon... ish. Eventually. :)

By the way, have you ever been to the big comic festival in Angouleme, in France? (I think that's where the 24-hour comic day originated, too?)

What kind of comics would you like to draw?

I would love to go to Angouleme, but it might not be till 2010 or later.

24 Hour Comic Book Day was started by Scott McCloud here in the USA, but it's very possible others had the same idea too.

I want to go in 2010 myself. It's in January; if you decide to go, let me know!

What kind of comics would you like to draw?

European-style albums. Definitely nothing in the superhero genre... other than that, there are no concrete plans yet. I'll tell you all about it in SD. :)

Damn, which reminds me, those con people still haven't sent me the folder with my access code. It's the same thing every year! I'll have to make sure I don't miss the deadline.
