That was INCREDIBLE. Man what a talent. I couldn't hear the audio but the visuals were quite enough to blow me away. Wow!

She's such a fantastic artist, isn't she! (The two vids I downloaded onto your laptop last summer were made by her, too. Btw, here's a page of Lim's sketchbook, quite interesting.)

Hey, have you heard from Comic Con? I already got my online registration form, password and everything. This should be interesting, I'll have to re-verify my pro status again this year, I think. Fingers crossed that the kids' books stuff will get me in. But last year I checked and kids's books were listed, so...

If I go to SD con, I'm thinking about looking into the single rooms at the hostel. Those that I saw were all facing the inside courtyard. That would totally be worth paying a few bucks more. What do you think?

I got a letter with a registration number and a notice saying they were going to start registration in March. I don't remember a date, though.

I didn't know they had single rooms! By courtyard do they mean... wait, I'm confused, because I don't remember an inner courtyard either. A few dollars more would certainly be worth it, though what i really long for is a private bath and I don't think they have any. :)

Do you mean the other hostel, the one in Ocean beach?

No, the one downtown actually has a tiny inside courtyard. Like, an atrium of sorts? Looks quite cute. (I don't think there are private baths but I don't know for sure.)

I just checked their online reservation and wtf, couldn't get anything for the time of the con. Stupid City of San Diego who do NOTHING about the room shortage. But I'm assuming it's still early in the year and people are bound to cancel... Last year I made my reservation as late as April or March, unless I'm completely mistaken. So I'll just check back again and again. I can be persistent. :P Shall I reserve one for you as well when I get my foot in the door?

Okay. I found a family room (sleeps three). Not the cheapest, 115 bucks - but with bath for the first two nights. I figured, better than nothing, and I can cancel anytime as long as it's 24 hours notice, so I made a reservation. It's not facing the back alley, I checked with the main desk. And the guy agreed with me that it's easier to find rooms for single nights than for four nights in a row. Remembering our room hunt in San Francisco, I'm optimistic. So we'd be settled for the first two nights in any case.

I'm glad you grabbed it. :D

Geeez, it's so hard to find a room in that town. I thought we still had time. Worse every year, isn't it?

Wow, yeah. It'll probably sell out again this year. Totally crazy. I checked my email folders and saw that last year I made the reservation at the beginning of February. That was a good idea. Ah well, live and learn. ;)
