Blake, my little inchworm, wants to crawl and go everywhere! He's got the bending at the hips down, he can tuck his knees underneath him, he holds himself up with his arms and gets his tummy off the ground..... Then he pushes off and his feet slide and his arms push him backwards. So he's my little inchworm stuck in reverse. Sometimes he goes forward a bit, but only when he buries his head down. Then he's really funny, pushing his butt all the way up in the air. Oh...it won't be long.
He also prefers to be on his tummy now, which makes for challenging diaper changes and getting dressed. He rolls, inches and squirms all over. This morning I just held him up and put his diaper on him, only putting him down to quickly fasten the velcros in place. Good thing I've had 6 months of practice without so much squirming. :D Of course the advantage to being on his tummy: he can scoot places AND he lifts his head all the way up and can see EVERYTHING! And we have to see everything!
My interview the other week went better than I thought it did. I should know by the end of this week if I'll get a second interview. We picked out a daycare, but Blake won't be able to start there until about mid May - which would be right about the time I would start work if I were to take this job. Kyle also ran across a perfect match for me in a neuroscience department. So I'm going to double check my resume and send it out for that. BUT, I remind all of you that may be eager to find me a job....I'm not actively searching and not neccessarily overly-eager to go back to work yet. It really does have to be the RIGHT position.
I missed drill this weekend because I was in bed with a headcold for 2 days straight. Thankfully, Blake was very good and content to just hang out with me. Yesterday Kyle got me out of bed enough to go pick out our new washer and drier - though I was kind of apathetic about the whole process because I was in such a fog. We decided to spend a little more to get something more energy and water efficient. So Friday, a front-loading Frigidaire washer and drier will be delivered to our new apartment. :D :D :D We figure that the cost we'll save in energy efficiency should pay for itself within about 2 years....not even factoring in using 15 gallons of water per load vs. 40 gallons per load.
