Hitting the Big Time
I don't know if everyone has picked up on this already, but there's a shoutout to fanfic in the New York Times Book Review--just a short mention in an essay entitled "The Widening Web of Digital Lit" by David Orr. Fanfiction.net gets a reference, as does Godawful Fan Fiction (http://www.godawful.net), and there is capable use of the terms "plot bunnies," "beta," "Mary Sue," and, of course "gen," "slash," and "'ship."
