Having spent far to long of my life doing little and not really getting anywhere I have decided that it's time to travel and do something meaningful with my time. Imspired in part by my sisters "i'm getting the fuck out of here come hell or high water" approach to life, I have decided that some major dustups are in order. Caution precedes all,

Americorps isn't that bad. And I wanted to mention to you (I mentioned it to her too so expect to hear about it..) that when Jerrod was calling around regarding the PC, he spoke with someone and the information he gathered was basically because there is SUCH a high demand to be in the PC that there is a sort of almost-unstated rule that you have to have a college degree. You have to have some sort of skill to bring along. If you had a certificate in your trade that might help a lot. I believe he told me there are only two or three 'uneducated' positions open, grunt work shit (which is fine w/ you or me) but they put people w/ degrees in those positions too, just because they seem to be better qualified. I don't mean to not try to get in, and if you start the process now you might be in a really good state when it does roll around, but you might want to do some calling to real people (vs internet) and see if that's really the case.

remember that small farmers journal we used to get? i seem to remember trade/work/boarding classifieds in there, inviting people to go experience different cultures like that and working and having board and stuff. there are a lot of different opportunities if you're willing to check weird places.

we're not getting an apartment here (or anywhere in the forseeable future.) i do have a hookup at the hotel we stayed at and i'm sure i could get you a good deal.. and sure, funding is completely understandable. also i figure you have to finish your lease and stuff. but you should keep me/us/livejournal updated on your research in this subject, your progress, what you're leaning towards. i am excited for you! i really want to know if you find something awesome i might be able to get involved in too. :)
