Not the best week ever...

I'm afraid this is my only post for the weekend - it's been just a little hectic. Have had no time to write any more fic, which sucks and is pretty much totally my own fault!

Karaoke on Tuesday was a blast. I had a great time - unfortunately a little too great...

I remember eating Thai beforehand. I remember singing a Take That duet with my friend Lisa (I was appalling, but that was kinda expected). I remember there was wine and vodka and sambuca.

I don't remember leaving the club. I don't remember getting in the taxi. I do remember waking up in the taxi half-way back to the hotel yelling for it to stop and falling out of the taxi (still have a few scratches from that). I don't remember Monica helping me get back in the taxi, or getting back to the hotel, or Rachel knocking on my door to see if I was alright whilst I was apparently being sick in the bathroom.

I do remember my alarm going off at 6.30 in the morning and not getting up. I do remember waking up again at 7.19, frantically phoning downstairs to get someone to wait to give me a lift to work, having a really quick shower whilst the room was spinning and then being sick before staggering downstairs. I remember getting into the car, trying to sleep, and then making us pull over half-way to work so I could be sick in the flower bed of some country pub in the Peak District. I remember spending an hour at work, trying to stop the world spinning, mostly in the bathroom, before giving up the ghost and heading back to the hotel (stopping the taxi at one point because I felt I was going to be sick again).

I then spent most of the rest of the day being sick and passing out, trying desperately to get well enough to actually do some work. I think I was finally coherent enough by about 6 in the evening.

Fortunately I was very lucky and everyone seemed to find it quite funny, although I was appalled at myself and so very, very embarrassed. What's worse is that I'm contracted by a client who pay a damn lot of money for me, and it really probably wasn't the best impression to be giving. I have also spent a lot of my weekend with a leftover sore stomach from Wednesday and working to try and catch up on my missed day. I did find time to go to my flatmate's birthday party (sober) and watch POTC 2, which was a blast!

Oh, well, most everybody has done it at some point, I guess, and I had to learn some time. I have at least 3 nights out this coming week too, 2 of them big ones (the head partner of my firm is coming to Manchester and my project is all having dinner with him - aargh!) and I can guarantee I will be one of the most sober people there!
