His words echoed in her ears, the implications filtering down, quick as lightning. Bill was dead. If Bill was dead, Saul must be dead or incapacitated. Kara. Lee. Tyrol. She was all the protection the fleet had left now. And Bill was dead. Bill was dead.
“No”
She straightened up slowly, feeling their deaths filling her with new purpose.
“Not now. Not ever. You hear me?! I will use every cannon, every bomb, every bullet, every weapon I have down to my own eyeteeth to end you. I swear it! I’m coming for all of you!”
Glancing around at the figures surrounding her, she realised she’d never imagined a day when she would be glad to be aboard a cylon basestar rather than her own beloved Colonial One, standing with cylons and that frakweasel Baltar, but this? This, she couldn’t do from Colonial One, and this was what Zarek had earned now. This was what she would do for the sake of the fleet, because she damned well wasn’t leaving it in the dangerous hands of Tom frakkin’ Zarek.
“Train your nukes on Galactica.”
It wasn’t a request. It was an order.
