'k, so I'm now trying to work this out for something I'm (sort of) working on.
What would you say Laura's background and timeline is like?
My current thoughts are:
* Her sisters are her half-sisters.
* Her parents split up when she was a child, and he father remarried and had her sisters who were born when she was approximately 12 (Sandra) and 15 (Cheryl).
* She becomes a teacher after college (high school, probably teaching English or History. I don't know why I think this, but I do), and teaches for around ten years.
* Adar, currently Mayor, spots her being such a wonderful teacher, and persuades her to come work for him oversee the schools in Caprica City, which she does. She does this for maybe another ten years. She may have started the affair with him at some point during this.
* He decides to run for president, and persuades her, again, to come with him, and become Secretary of Education. She's been doing this maybe seven or eight years when the attacks happen.
* teachlikeroslin convinced me recently that Laura's mother probably died before her father and sisters did, maybe when she was in her late twenties/early thirties.
* I guess Laura's father and sister died when she was in her early forties.
So, timeline-wise that means:
Laura born
Approx age 9 or 10, parents divorce
Approx age 12, Sandra born
Approx age 15, Cheryl born
Starts teaching in early twenties
Takes care of mother until she dies when Laura is around 30.
Moves away from teaching and into working for Adar as mayor at around age 33. Starts affair.
Father and sisters die when she is about 42 (which makes Sandra 30 and Cheryl 27 when they died). Becomes Secretary of Education a year or so later.
She's about 49-50 when the attacks happen.
Does that look plausible? Anything you'd change? What's your own personal timeline for Laura look like?
