Clare tries to do something useful for once in her life
Ok, soooooo ... after reading icedteainthebag's fascinating poll and discussion on the state of the fandom at the moment, mmegiry and I are planning to set up a comm specifically for longer fics (probably around 1000+ words, but it's negotiable), where there will be challenges and discussions and feedback and support and inspiration for writers, hopefully, somewhere really friendly and open and positive. I'm hoping that this may help to rejuvenate things in the fandom a little bit.
I'm working on putting together a long ass questionnaire at the moment so that members can let us know what they'd actually like from the community and what we can do to help them out, but I figured I'd get a bit of feedback from my awesome f-list first.
Does this sound like something you'd be interested in? Any particular things that we could do to help inspire and motivate your own writing? Any comments or suggestions you'd like to make?
And if you'd like to sign up and fill in the long ass questionnaire (complete with ticky boxes!), I'll be posting up a community link in the next day or so, so long as the response from you guys isn't "God no, that's the worst idea ever!".
