“Is it what you were expecting?” Bill murmured, as they lay together, her head resting on his shoulder.
“I don't really know what I was expecting. I hadn't thought that I'd see it. Getting to Earth was as far ahead as I'd envisioned.” Gently running her hand back and forth over his chest.
“She's certainly … strident” he chuckled, “but then I'm used to feisty redheads by now.”
“Mmhm.” She raised up on her elbows to look at him. “Should I be worried that you have a thing for redheaded women in power?”
He grinned at her, reaching up to run his thumb along her bottom lip. “Believe me, Laura, Elizabeth Tudor has nothing on you.”
“Oh really?”
“That hair is a wig...”
“What do you call what I've been wearing the past few months?”
“That hair is a terrible wig” he clarified. “And your legs are better, hands down.”
“You can't even see her legs in those dresses she wears.”
“Doesn't matter. Yours are still better.”
Laura held back a smile. “She wants to use Galactica to invade Spain, you know.”
“At least she's moved on from insisting you be tried for witchcraft.”
“I think even she realised she wasn't going to get anywhere with swords and cannons against our marines and Galactica. Honestly … me, a witch? What did she think, I was hiding my pointy hat in my handbag?”
“You bewitched me.”
“Mmm, I did, didn't I?” She smirked, leaning down to kiss him.
When she finally let him up for air, he said “I was talking to someone I met in the corridor earlier. He said he's written a few plays and I thought we could try them out. I don't know if they'll be any good, but it's worth a shot. Shakespeare, he said his name was...”
