Cloud Nine
Great Christmas. I'd upload pictures if I could remember where I put the camera; maybe later. Had a lot of alcohol (on both Xmas Eve and Xmas), and I don't normally drink; so, had a few shots, and got on livejournal to commerate the holiday, and got off to enjoy getting drunk. The drinks had really crude names ("slippery nipple"? C'mon...) and I pretty much had a red wine bottle attached to my hip, but it was a great evening/morning. Didn't wake up puking so that was also a plus? Idk, it's never happened to me before anyway.
Today wasn't...amazing. Trying to catch a flight home early by myself; woke up at 4am, miscalculated the time it'd take to get past security and the flight left early so I missed my 6:40am flight by 5-10 minutes. Next one was at 10:30am. That wasn't that bad...the connecting flight was terrible (not just because I missed my original connection). I've never experienced just how inefficient and under-qualified some of the staff can be. Flew in to Atlanta at about noon (which is a HUMONGOUS airport), and had a 3 hour layover. So, cool, I can get lost as much as I want. I get to my gate, and my dad calls to confirm because they had me on standby, only to have them tell me. "oh, you're not confirmed, we might be able to get you on the 3:36 flight (which was now 4:56pm due to delays from Philly)". So I'm all, "yes, I am confirmed, please check again." "But your orignial flight was for 9:50am". *facepalm* "yes, but I talked to the representative and she assured me that I'm confirmed for this flight" "ok, well, you're going to have to come back in an hour to see if our registry is refreshed. They may have just added you in". I was about to lose it.
Anyway, I was able to get through that and get back at my house by 8:10pm...grumpy, tired, and hungry. But, the evening significantly improved, because I heard back from NYU (I thought that wouldn't be until mid-Jan) and not only did they accept me...but they offered me a $44,000 scholarship! Yaaaay! I think this is compensation for such a lousy day.
I'm on a huuuuge high right now. God really smiled down upon me for this one, man...
