Yesterday and today for the first time I tried to astral project consciously ( Read more... )

There's a stage beyond the paralysis where hypnogogic hallucinations start, where you hear voices and begin to see things as though you're dreaming but awake. If you get caught up in them you'll either fall asleep or launch into a waking induced lucid dream (WILD). There's a point after that where it stops (I haven't reached it) and from there it's easier to get out. If you're more of a tactile person, you can imagine pulling yourself out of the body by climbing a rope.

I personally find the binaural beats helpful in that they create a feeling that is different from mundanity. They can help induce a spinning feeling, and when you have that, you could roll yourself out of the body or lift out of it.

But then again, I've never projected, so this is all just what others who have have said. Good luck though :D

How long after paralysis do those hallucinations start? (Truthfully I'm a bit afraid of having them)

And yes, I did get that feeling while listening to the music.

i don't always hallucinate. when i'm in the paralyzed state i try to concentrate and roll out or the rope thing works better sometimes.

the binaural beats have never given me a full-on obe/astral but they're brought on lucid dreams & things i feel are related.

They're like dreaming--not really much different at all, except sometimes it will sound like someone is talking next to you, which can startle you out of it sometimes.

Otherwise for me it's what happens when I'm really tired--swirls of colors and little lights opening up into scenes as it becomes a dream.

Ah, and I'm not sure about the time on that. Really depends on your relaxation. If you're tense about it happening, probably longer.
