away, away, away to
kukup
kukup is a little fishing village two hours away from singapore.
almost all of my relatives went, so we chartered a bus to take us there.
even my grandma, who hardly gets out of the house went along.
been a while since we had a family outing.
we stayed in water chalets- big houses built over the sea, supported by concrete pillars.
it was like a mordernised kampong sorta.
apparently lotsa aunties like to go there for a weekend to play mahjong and make as much noise as they want. hoho.
some sights on the way to kukup:-
balloons tied to a pole/ abandoned table/
a "pao" stall/ a yellow vespa with a tiger-print seat/ yellow alley/
some sights walking to our water chalet
some flowers & dew drops/
a monkey we saw at the mangrove swamp/
un-fried koropok sunning/ a mobile vegetable seller
freeflow of coke!/ the eating area/
a self made kennel/
my cousin jane/ some of my relatives waiting around/ me & aloy/
my parents, walking along the mangrove swamp/ aloy at the entrance of a long walk/ my cousin sher
we visited a fish farm/
this guy holding a baby shark/ some mudskippers on a ballooned sack/
homemade "hei piah"/ cute little girl who wasn't afraid of dogs.
my parents/ cousin-in-law nelson blowing a bubble/ us again/
hanabi!/ remains of hanabi/
snake spotted!/stilts/ baby chairs/

the owners were sweet pple who kept cooking us food. we just ate and ate and ate.
it was really nice too, sitting by the sea, eating bbq-ed seafood, and watching fireworks right above ur head.
but i think one of the best things about the trip was seeing my grandma being ferried on a motorbike.hoho.
