Flooded Cedar Creek

May 31, 2008 23:59

I had a dream that I went to Cedar Creek with Eric to see if it still looked suitable for tubing. Some other people went us, I know EmilySarah and Jayce were there. When we got down to the waterfall, it was really flooded and almost unrecognizable. We could see another waterfall upstream that was bigger and non-negotiable in an inner tube. We decided it wasn’t safe to tube there with the current water levels, so we left. When we were walking down the gravel road, the creek bank was lined with dark muddy ant hills that looked like drip castles. In the dream, school wasn’t out yet. I had had all my exams except for one, which wasn’t for another six days or so. Jayce and I decided to head back to the dorm. He disappeared at some point, and I was walking by myself down the sidewalk on Valley Street. There was a model of Cedar Creek there, and I decided to walk through it. It was about shoulder deep, which I hadn’t anticipated, and I fell in and got soaked. I got back to my dorm (which in the dream looked nothing like my real dorm) and got on one of the elevators. I accidentally hit the button for the sixth floor, and then I pressed the fourth floor button. The elevator went past the fourth floor and up to the sixth. I decided I would get off on the way back down, but the elevator skipped the fourth floor on the way back down as well. I got on another elevator, but I can’t remember if that one stopped on the fourth floor or not. I know I eventually found an elevator that stopped on the fourth floor, but I can’t remember what happened afterwards.

I think the flooded Cedar Creek Falls came from looking up pictures of Cedar Creek and finding a picture that showed the falls when the water was high. The ant hills probably came from the ant infestation in our kitchen.
