Mom leaves me at rural Subway when I have to present; Joy Ride sequel

Last night I dreamt that I was riding with my mom to some sort of conference where I was going to do a presentation. We were on a rural road that didn’t have many restaurants. I knew there was a Subway along the road somewhere, but I didn’t know exactly where. It came up quickly and I missed it, so I turned around and went back. It doubled as convenience store, and it looked really old-fashioned. When the cashier asked what we wanted to drink, she tried to dissuade us from getting the fountain drinks that we normally got, and she was showing us some non-carbonated bottled drinks. I said I wanted a fountain drink, but my mom wanted me to try one of the bottled drinks. I refused, so my mom got pissed off and left with the cashier. I was stranded there. I don’t remember what happened next, but somehow I ended up at Granny’s house. I was still scheduled to present at the conference that evening. I saw my mom pull into the driveway, and I thought about hiding in the closet, but instead I decided to run into the bathroom and turn the shower on so my mom would think I had been in the process of getting ready before she pulled up. I think there were also some other people there. That’s all I remember.

I had another dream that I was watching a later sequel to Joy Ride. I think it was Joy Ride 3. The movie started off showing clips of a movie (within the movie) that was based on the first Joy Ride that had been shown in Joy Ride 2 (like how they showed Stab in Scream 2). Toward the end of the movie there was an action sequence where the main protagonist and her boyfriend were ramming pickup trucks with Rusty Nail (the killer). They both ended up in Rusty Nail's truck, and he was tied up in the truck bed. The girl was in the truck bed with him, and noticed he had some scented oils inside of his jacket. It was established that the reason he killed people was that he could summon demons (using the oils), and different demons would tell him different things about his future in exchange for human sacrifices. Rusty Nail said something about how he knew it was wrong to try and look into the future, and the girl said something like, “So you think it’s okay to kill people, but think it’s WRONG to look into the future?”

At that point they both started laughing hysterically. That’s all I remember.
