My first time ever watching Eurovision. Gotta say it was lots of fun!
Didn't expect Azerbaijan to win at all. Not to be mean, but there were definitely better songs.
I was also surprised that Sweden would get that many points. I mean, if you compare the singer to Russia and Finland, aren't they all good-looking boys? And I find the Russian singer to be more attractive. XD
Maybe it's because the Swedish singer is younger?
My personal favourites are UK (love Blue, glad they are coming back), Denmark (love the lyrics), Romania (the lead singer is English and he's wearing that vertical pants, what's not to love?), Iceland (it's touching that they are doing it for their friend), and Serbia (the song is quite catchy, but I hate the background).
I also like Hungary and Spain's songs, they are fun. Austria's and Greece's performance were quite strong too. Ukraine's song is nice, but my mind was focusing on that gorgeous sand performance.
Don't really like Germany's song. The previous year, 'Satellite' was waaayyy better. I'm also surprised that Italy's song could get that much points.
Personal dislike: Estonia (too high school musical), Ireland (too hyper), and Moldova (too sweat drop inducing).
Now for some Hetalia moments:
- Finland's song is about a boy named Peter who's trying to save the earth. I was like, " LOL Sealand! Finland you are such a papa."
- I kept on imagining Russia singing and dancing like his singer, and I can't stop sniggering. It's just too much! Oh, and Belarus was probably thrilled to hear Russia's song.
- Denmark's singer is quite like Denmark, but his hair reminds me of Netherland.
- Romania's singer is English and he's wearing that vertical pants similar to what England wear in ArteStella.
- France's singer is very, very France like.
- Spain's song is very, very Spain like.
- UK's background is green, just like UK's eyes! ...Ok, that was too far-fetched.
The voting was filled with 'whut?' moments and 'LOL Hetalia' moments. Scandinavia and Baltics, of course, would vote for each other. Germany, Italy, France & Spain would also vote for each other. UK voted for Ireland, but Ireland didn't return the love. And I honestly can't remember the rest. This is the time when you really get to see the relationships between these countries. Best friends would totally vote for each other or neighbour countries would also vote for each other just so they don't have to travel far next year.
Oh, and those postcards were LOVE! It's really cool to hear each country's language saying "Feel your heart beat!"
Thank you, Düsseldorf!
