For Argument's Sake....

Alright! So here I am again, I find myself at school waiting this time for my pal to get out of class. My internet connection has gone wonky here for some reason, and I figure I have Microsoft Word, so I can at least type out a Random Rambling on here and copy-paste it to LJ once my network adapter stops being temperamental. It worked fine ( Read more... )

I fully agree with the stroll in the park. I do so enjoy those. They are the best way to collect one's thoughts, aside from selecting a nice clearing in a wooded area somewhere, preferably by the water, but without works fine too. Sometimes even the backyard does just fine, so long as it is simply outdoors! Oh look at that, I have somewhat gone astray, here...back on topic, I prefer the civilized Halloween party idea myself. The whole spook the neighbors thing was fun for a while, but it really has gotten old. Even so, I did enjoy working the haunted trail at the local fun park when it was open, but sadly they did close down. Even still, they killed the creative license we had as actors when they began dumbing down the freedoms we had to work with in certain scenes like the maze. The no noise thing was ridiculous. I couldn't get past that. It made the whole scene a dead zone. Without any sound effects, and coupled with the already poor lighting, it was just a sad scene. I much preferred the other two years I worked it. THOSE were fun ( ... )

Well, that is the worst punishment for an actor--no acting!

The first year that I did that, it was okay, and I had to sort of get the feel of what I wanted to do. The next year was quite the disappointment, I would sadly have to admit. The dead spots were quite irritating, and being restricted to sharing scenes with children that could not act was very tiring.
Perhaps, if there are any parties this year we would attend..if not, then enjoying the waterfront with you would be ideal...

The children that REFUSED to take it seriously was particularly annoying. The lack of talent is something kind of to be expected on a volunteer basis, but when you VOLUNTEER to do a benefit function like that was, you should at least take it seriously like the rest of the team does.

Good point! If we cannot find any decent parties to go to, then the waterfront should do just fine. We can get some coffees and just enjoy the night and the mysticism that goes with it.

That is true, and perhaps I was only being a bit arrogant when I mentioned that. I did not take formal acing lessons or anything of the sort, so I am probably wrong for saying such things.

Enjoying the night is more than likely what I would rather do, anyway. The mix of energy from a crowd would become overwhelming after a while, and the water would be a nice get away from the stir at home.

Oh most definitely agreed. The energy output from a crowd can easily get overpowering. As for the energy at home, well that's a rant of another time. That is energy that I really find myself wanting to scrub out of my soul...*Shivers and shudders at the thought of the output at the home*

I took classes in school, and was a member of the International Thespian Society, but I really never did anything with it afterward, aside from things like the Haunted Forest...

I look forward to a possible discussion on energy as well. I'm sure that you would have many things to say about it, considering you will be typing a few things on the Indigos.

....What do you do in the Thespian Society? Does it give you any special privileges?

*scrolls through endless comments*
Has anyone else given you any attention, or is it just me so far? And why did we stray off the topic? *laughs*

Ohhhh yes. I have plenty to say on energy, if I ever get around to it, that is.

The Thespian Society? Well, really after the induction ceremony, we really didn't do a whole lot. We did a lot of acting drills and mock plays and skits and whatnot, but never anything major. The club we were in took a trip to Scotland for the Fringe Festival, which sadly I was unable to attend. I wish I could have gone though. Apparently everyone had a great time, and there were some really interesting skits performed there too.

*Laughs* So far it's just you. Nobody ever really pays me much mind on here.
