strangest thing...
Listening to music. Amazing like they way smell makes me think of things that have happened.
BTW "strangest thing" vague reference to Usual Suspects. If you get it, you might have watched that movie as many times as me.
AND NOW: songs that make me think of specific moments, because I was listening to them at that moment.
"Mushaboom" -- Feist. Snowy-ass snowstorm in Portland. Lindsay and I in apartment. I was finally feeling warm. 2007
"Window" -- Album Leaf Bangor, Matt's apartment and falling asleep finally on a night that was just insanely hot without a fan/AC. 2006
"7th September 2003" -- The Elected Walking in the fall to and from class/work and the apartment that I had with M/Meg/Katie. Raining. Really really bright red and orange leaves soaked into the ground. One tree that would reflect red and yellow all over me it was so low to the ground. Just above my head like an arch. 2005
"Coma Girl" -- Joe Strummer. Hot effing southwest in the back seat listening to this on headphones 'cause Dad likes to drive across the flattest, most uninteresting part of the desert without sound. 2005
"Burning Down the House" -- either 1) dancing at the Square with everyone as it's on the big screen or 2) dancing in the apartment in Portland with Rene (wearing purple/pink alpaca sweater thing), waiting for Jme to get back. 2006
"Perfect Day" -- Lou Reed Margaret and I got done walking to the VA hospital. My dorm room all shades pulled literally sitting in front of fan it was so hot...but we had basically no worries so we just cooled off and enjoyed summer. Had on green dress. 2002
Ok so there are five relatively recent ones, and one that's older by a few years. I want to see other peoples'. I mean the ones that are not just like an 'atmosphere' but SO distinct you can smell the air and feel the weather when you hear the song. A specific day. I left out the ones that are really dramatic--like songs from funerals or first kisses--and also whole albums that were played. Also none from childhood/teenage years.

What brought this on? Conversation with Josh. Hadn't spoken in a few months. Bria also accused me of "being abducted by aliens." So I figured I'd post.
