in which Sarah schools me

Sarah: What's your job, Mama?

Me: I'm a software engineer.

Sarah: That's what you do at work with your working friends?

Me: Right.

Sarah: I am going to be a baseball player.

Me: Really? When you grow up?

Sarah: Yes. When I am not being a baseball player, I will be a firefighter because firefighters are good helper people.

Me: You'd be a great firefighter. But you know, women don't play professional baseball. Only men do.

Sarah: [index finger raised] Not *yet*, Mama.
