Today for Father's Day we went to have a sushi lunch and Sarah ate donburi (egg and veggies over rice) with her Chopstick Kid and generally had a wonderful time. Now she wants to eat everything with chopsticks.
Also, yesterday we saw our weekend babysitter (Sarah wanted to visit her dog for a little bit) and she told me that the manager of the Starbucks we used to frequent was fired. In a totally stricken tone, she said "I feel so bad for her, because I don't know what she's going to do. She's almost 40! How is she going to find another job?" I just bit my tongue. I get that the economy is bad now, but 40 is not the end of productive life. I hope.
